This role is responsible for establishing and leading technical competence centers in LKQ Europe.

You have the ability to lead the strategy and set-up of Technical Competence Centers? You want to be responsible introducing new categories (together with LKQ Product Management). You feel confident signing-off new components' product launches? You work with people in a variety of Competence Center related jobs including VP Components, Director of Procurement Support, Director of Supply Chain & Production, Product Management, Private Label Procurement, Marketing and IT. Collaborating with each, you strive to establish cohesive language and a unified voice across products and platforms.

Essential job duties:

  • Leading & Managing the respective category teams across LKQ Europe
  • Definition of the strategic agenda for the technical competence center based on overall LKQ and components strategy
  • Direction and sign-off of data management standards, best practices and KPIs within components
  • Direction and sign-off of product development standards, best practices and KPIs within components
  • Signing-off required investments for TCC (e.g., digital tools, software)
  • Driving capability build-up within TCC (e.g., trainings, external hires)
  • Coordination with key stakeholders on strategic and technical components topics (e.g., new categories, new components product families)
  • Provision of guidance and support to TCC department leads (incl. issue resolution)
  • Development of a motivated and effective team of professionals with the TCC
  • Effective leadership across organizational boundaries to ensure optimal business decisions, effective execution and promotion of people

qualification

  • Business or technical University degree
  • Experience in team leadership coordinating several subunits
  • Several years professional industry experience, particularly in technical product management
  • Experience in automotive and IAM spare part business
  • Fluent in English, German is a plus
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, proactive, strong interest in learning, effective under pressure and willing to take personal responsibility/accountability
