Main Responsibilities:

Business responsibilities include support for the Make DACH Engineering pillar for the DePuy Synthes Business. This position is responsible for various financial and operational analysis as well as close support to the Zuchwil Engineering team, senior management and projects. The position reports directly to the Make Finance Manager.

  • Shares perspectives and takes ownership for budget, projects, process improvements, closing, and business planning for the assigned area - DACH Engineering. Identifies issues, provides recommended solutions, and participates in their implementation
  • Provides business rationale when making recommendations for decisions with short- and long-term focus and influence outcome and challenges using fact-based data
  • Is accountable for the assigned elements of the business planning and forecasting process and works with management to complete business plan action items. Understands linkages to strategic plan and applies business knowledge to challenge business partners on assumptions
  • Reviews and ensures accuracy of analysis, challenges assumptions, and implements corrective actions. Proactively investigates and explains variances and ensures timely completion of financial reporting requirements.
  • Leverages systems proactively and shares knowledge across the organization to streamline systems. Understands interdependencies among financial systems and ensures accuracy and consistency of data.
  • Engages business partners using fact-based data and advanced analytics to achieve mutually agreeable business objectives
  • Identifies areas of potential weakness; recommends and implements solutions; proactively demonstrates responsibility for compliance requirements specific to functional area (SOX, GAAP, and WW procedures)
  • Provide support in project management and proactively keeps manager informed of business actions and issues

qualification

Who we are looking for:

  • University degree or equivalent and professional experience
  • 3+ years' of applicable finance and cost accounting experience
  • In-depth knowledge of finance, cost accounting, compliance, and appropriate knowledge of applicable enterprise systems
  • Advanced Information technology skills, especially MS Excel
  • Very good knowledge of SAP
  • Strong organization and planning skills, ability to work under pressure
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills
  • Ability to work independently and understands the implications of work performed
  • Fluent English, French and/or German is an asset
