Our customer, Nestlé Research & Development Konolfingen, near Bern / Switzerland, is currently looking for a Sensory Panel Leader in the Consumer Sensory Insight team.

At Nestlé Research & Development Konolfingen, near Bern / Switzerland, they develop new products, processes and packaging concepts in the areas of Milk and Nutrition for Nestlé worldwide. In addition, we also provide technical assistance to them factories around the world.

As part of the Nestlé Research & Development Center in Konolfingen, the Consumer Insight team builds and translates knowledge to guide the design and development of product experiences to meet the unique needs of mothers, infants and toddlers ? which drives the need for them to attract, select and develop the right people for the right jobs throughout the value chain of the business.

In this role, you will manage panel activities at the NPTC Nestlé Research Konolfingen on Infant Formula and Growing Up Milk. You will partner with Sensory Insight Specialists by providing appropriate sensory panel training and by managing your sensory panels to provide relevant data and report according to business priorities. You will connect as well directly with Product Developers to ensure Quality test follow up on their projects.

Key responsibilities

Planning and execution of tasting sessions:

  • Planning and running assigned panel sessions

  • Building session in EyeQuestion (sensory software)

  • Development of tasting procedures and methodologies

Management of sensory panels:

  • Administration of 2 external panels (one descriptive, one quality testing)

  • Screening and training of external panel

  • Tracking panel performance and providing feedback

Analysis and reporting:

  • Ensure data quality by running appropriate check and taking corrective actions.

  • Provide Quality sensory reports


Education Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Sensory Evaluation, Food Science, Biochemistry with 2 to 5 years of experience in sensory evaluation and operations in the sensory laboratory.

  • Experience in panel moderating or facilitation. Experience in sensory evaluation or equivalent is mandatory

  • Strong computer skills (MS-Office)

  • Experience with EyeQuestion (sensory data collection software) is a plus

  • Competences in basic statistics is a plus

  • Fluent in German and good notion of English (comfortable to interact with English speakers)

  • Strong team player, good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Precise and conscientious worker, well organized

  • Logical, analytical mind and curious

  • Sense of responsibility
