Analytical Investigation Laboratory Technician, Chemistry Research

Job Description

As a Laboratory Technician you will apply well-defined scientific/technical methods and work procedures to perform analyses and technical activities. You are expected to apply problem-solving techniques and you may suggest improvements for methods, processes, products, systems, materials and/or equipment. You will maintain and troubleshoot equipment.


  • Conduct routine lab activities & participate to planning (e.g. validation plan). Generate, collect and compile data. Ensure that quality & reliability of the measurements are aligned with method description and operational quality system.
  • Maintain & troubleshoot moderately equipment. Report breakdowns and follow repair in order to ensure the availability, the quality and certification of the laboratory.
  • Support material evaluation investigation by electronic microscopy, and other spectroscopy technics.
  • Support scientists for new method developments or optimizations.
  • Contribute to technical work instructions and related forms.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with regulations, EHS procedures, PMI policies and procedures. Maintain laboratory functional. Ensure that supplies are available to maintain laboratory activities.


  • CFC in analytical chemistry or equivalent with minimum 4 years of experience in analytical chemistry field through demonstrated experience/education in gas chromatography & mass spectrometry (GC/MS), spectroscopies.
  • Experience in thermochemistry (TG/MS, TG-GC/MS)
  • Experience in laboratory accredited environment (ISO 17025)
  • Able to display problem solving and learning capability
  • Fluent in French, English being an asset
  • Collaborative spirit, team player in a multidisciplinary environment
