Randstad has over 55 years of experience in the area of HR Management. Under the Randstad Inhouse Services concept, Randstad becomes a full service supplier providing consultancy to international clients. For our client Philip Morris SA in Neuchâtel, we are seeking a:

Laboratory Technician (electronic)

Duration: long term assignment at 100%

 

Start date: September or October

 

A key objective of Philip Morris International Inc. (PMI RRP) is to develop and assess products with the potential to reduce the risks of smoking-related diseases. This project is at the core of our business: our aim is that one day all adult smokers who otherwise wouldn?t quit will switch to what we call reduced-risk products, or RRPs.The Design Verification team, part of Electronic Device group at Philip Morris R&D in Neuchâtel, supports PMI?s core business objectives. The team is currently looking for a Laboratory Technician (preferably in Electronic) to support daily work activities. The role of the chosen candidate will be to perform experimental work using the State-of-the-Art analytical equipment for defect investigation and root cause analyses. Additionally, the candidate will run tests in regards of the design verification of our new product. The work will also include: to perform experiments for method development and validation purposes, to consolidate raw data going to be used by the Subject Matter Expert, to issue investigation reports and to collaborate closely with other PMI R&D departments.These are the tasks that await you:

  • Collect, generate and review data
  • Complete short-term activities of repetitive nature
  • Apply scientific / technical principles & practices
  • Operate assigned production equipment (semi-work)
  • Perform samples collection and trigger failure investigation on defective device units, may request SME support to be successful in this task
  • Perform samples preparation for various purposes
  • Support method validation process with laboratory activity and data collection
  • Support and coordinate Testing Order submission 
  • Issue investigation and/or analysis reports
  • Ability to collaborate easily with other PMI R&D departments
  • Ability to deal with high priority requests

qualification

  • Background in electronic or chemistry
  • Fluidity in French: written and spoken
  • Fluidity in English: written and spoken
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel as well as PC skills
  • Capability to use laboratory instrumentation, no specific skills required
  • Fast learner
  • Root cause analysis skill
  • Reporting skills
