For an international biotechnology company we are looking for a :

Senior Buyer

Location: Solothurn area

Contract: From March 2019 until December 2019.

The main objective will be to obtain, analyze and interpret supply chain relevant data. Use analysis results to improve supply chain processes, performance and to reduce costs. Perform analyses with this data using analytical models and mathematical analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Indirect Purchases (strategic as well as operational tasks), Variety of tasks, operational , strategic bidding, following up with stakeholders

  • This includes identifying and leading cross-functional teams, developing and managing the sourcing implementation plans, and performing all business-related functions of the sourcing initiative, negotiating contracts, and transitioning to the business units for physical implementation.

  • Lead client engagement efforts at the site operations management level to ensure Sourcing is aligned with their objectives, while securing their sponsorship to meet corporate imperatives (eg, social responsibility, diversity, compliance, savings, etc.) and to assign subject-matter experts to participate in sourcing projects.

  • Regularly solicit feedback from project-level stakeholders to ensure Sourcing is performing well and continuously improving.

  • Category maintenance. This includes contract life-cycle management (eg, renewing expiring contracts, updating pricing annually, etc.), category databases (eg, refreshing internal business requirement/impact metrics, supplier capabilities database, etc.), scanning the marketplace for changes and managing any known or potential business impact and developing risk mitigation plans.

  • Continuous Improvement. This includes both department/category business process improvements (eg, enhancements to the sourcing process, development or revision of key sourcing procedures, documenting processes, etc.) and personal development.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Senior experience in sourcing preferably within similar industries.

  • Being able to build up relationships with Key stakeholders

  • Being Agile, Accountable

  • Good communication skills

  • English is a must, any other language an advantage
