Our client, a global healthcare company, is looking for a Senior Manager Global Brand Management.

Purpose of the role:

Develops and shapes the profile and strategy for early stage product(s), executing marketing activities for a significant early product or group of products. Executes strategic projects aimed at defining the commercial strategy for key aspects of the New Product Portfolio; related to product Target Commercial Profile (TCP) elements or the evolution of the Biosimilars Commercial Strategy. Establishes product TCP(s), as well as marketing strategies including product direction, features, packaging, support programs, and LCM. Develops early perspectives on product value through forecasting, including all underlying assumptions (market share, pricing, biosimilar uptake, etc.). Interfaces with the development team, suppliers and customers to develop product requirements and specifications and follows up on their implementation within the product development plan.


Position in the Company:

Under the leadership of the Senior Director, New Products & Strategy, Biosimilars, the Global Brand Manager – New Biosimilar Products supports the definition and implementation of product TCPs, as well as supporting the definition of the global commercial strategy & launch readiness for the product(s).  This includes supporting & participating in key strategic projects that define elements of the early portfolio commercial strategy.

Main Tasks:


  • Collaborates effectively and leads within a matrix environment

Strategy & Execution

  • Develop product/market insights and deliverables for the Development Team (DT) on an as required basis

  • Plan and execute commercial activities year on year to support development

  • Closely monitor the originator, drug class and indication space trends for the product(s) and assess the impact of these trends on our biosimilar (Bx) development

  • Closely monitor the Bx competitive landscape and all relevant competitive intelligence (CI) insights and integrate all insights/implications into our internal commercial strategies

  • Develop and maintain the product launch and LCM TCPs and ensure all approved TCP features are integrated into the product development plan.  Ensure the TCP is compared to the profiles of all competing products in the drug class: the originator, other competing originator drugs in the class (biologics and synthetic drugs), and biosimilars to the originator product as well as biosimilars to other biologic drugs in the class

  • Identify and prioritize target markets globally for the product; work with the DT to establish the target COGs/unit (and long-term COGs/unit improvements), and analyze its relation to net pricing across all key global markets

  • Identify where market/customer insights are required to support the TCP and/or targeted commercial strategies.  Conduct market research and related analyses as required ensuring customer &commercial insights are synthesized and integrated into development and commercial strategies

  • As part of the TCP, defines the product differentiation strategy for patient support services, devices, e-health initiatives, companion diagnostics and collaborative partnerships to enhance the patient, provider, and payor customer experience.

  • Defines the product level forecast and budgets with the Franchise Leader

  • Recommends creative ways to enhance the Value discussion for the assigned brand in the market place

  • Establish the product brand plan, and the commercial strategic imperatives for the brand; define key implications for the development plan and ensure any new required development activities are identified


  • Effectively operates within a matrix organization

  • Represent the commercial function with a high level of credibility


  • Drives growth and performance of assigned biosimilar brand

Strategic Impact

  • High strategic impact – definition of commercial strategies for an assigned global product launch including options to creatively grow the business through differentiation other than price

  • High level of interaction across the organization to align country level launch plans

  • External interface customers/stakeholders

Financial Dimension

Work with the Franchise Leader to maintain the commercial commitment to the P&L for the assigned product:

  • Supports and prepares the brand forecast assumptions

  • Defines required investment to support the commercialization of the product; work with the Franchise leader to define portfolio level synergies


Qualification profile:

  • MBA or similar education.

  • Fluent English mandatory, other languages an asset

  • > 8 Years in similar role in a multinationl environment

  • Biosimilar, biologic, and/or specialty pharmaceutical experience

  • Preference for experience in Mabs and specifically Oncology or Autoimmune

  • Successful experience in the US market an asset

  • Ability to lead cross -functionally and cross-geography

  • Strong understanding of customer needs with global view

  • Outstanding communication skills

  • Ability to deal with complexity and translate insights and conceptual ideas into strategies
