You are a highly motivated professional with a hands on mentality? Your are very experienced in category management and feel comfortable leading a team and building up strategies?

This role is responsible for establishing and leading successful category management activities within LKQ Europe. You are reporting to the Director of Products and your key decision rights are setting up price levels on category and brand level, signing of contracts and category-based supplier & brand decisions. In this role you are collaborating mainly with your key stakeholders such as the European product and procurement organization, the regional Product and procurement organization, Components, (Marketing & Pricing), SCM, Sales, Finance and function stakeholders.

Essential job duties:

  • Leading & Managing the respective category teams across LKQ Europe
  • Entrepreneurial development and monitoring of the product group strategy in the area of their responsibility (incl. Components brands)
  • Accountable for product launches, development and de-listings in the area of their responsibility Participation in the Group Assortment Board, as an expert for the product group in the area of their responsibility
  • Contact for product range questions within the European LKQ group in the area of their responsibility
  • Accountable for the revision of the assortment strategy by changing of the market, suppliers offers, customer demands
  • Coordination with the regions and entities for the assortment strategy integration across LKQ Europe (incl. Components)
  • KPI reporting about Category status to Director of Products
  • Develop share of components business inside the Category, if required by the general strategy designed by CPO-Director of Products
  • Holistic management of the category: enhance cooperation with suppliers at 360 degrees, by facilitating Supply Chain team, PIM team in getting full support from key suppliers
  • Support local teams in transition from local portfolio to an EU harmonized
  • Cooperation with Finance Business Partner to forecast savings and gross margin development


  • 3+ years leadership experience
  • 5+ years professional industry experience, preferably automotive (IAM)
  • Experience in working in a pan-European function
  • Procurement and Product Management experience
  • Sales oriented thinking and acting
  • Proven track record with category strategy setting
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills
  • Fluent in English, German is a plus
