description du poste

Are you a multi-tasker? Are you a good planner? Are you the person that plans everything when you and others go on holiday? You know how you're getting to and from the airport, which hotel and when to check-in, and then you know exactly which museums and sights you are going to see? Ok, so then keep reading.

I have the pleasure of looking for a release manager for one of my favourite clients in Basel. You will be responsible for the roll out of development projects and ensuring they go to plan. You'll be dealing with all the key stakeholders in ensuring the quality of the release and see troubles before they happen.

In order to help you do this you will be surrounded by strong, agile and efficient development teams, a very open and welcoming management structure and helpful colleagues all pulling in the same direction. This is the mantra of this business.

Release Manager You have a key part in this organisation. In fact, to this company everyone is key as that's just the sort of company they are, but trust me, you're important. Working with the development teams at the testing stage you will be responsible for the planning, co-ordination and steady completion of software releases. You'll also need to see the rocks before the ship hits them. Here are some of your responsibilities:
  • Moving the release from the testing stage to the operational stage
  • Preparation of release code and performance code merge
  • Monitoring and support of the release
  • Work with the test manager to ensure a smooth transition
  • Co-ordinate the release and work for the best but prepare for the worst
  • Work in-line with Lean continuous integration
Now onto you..
  • Degree or Higher Education in Computing related subject
  • Strong experience (5+ years ideally) in Project Management, including release stage
  • Previous experience in Java Software Development
  • Good knowledge of Oracle
  • Fluency in German and good English
  • Be self confident, analytical and a detail orientated person.
  • You'll also need to be able to work with many types of stakeholders, from developers to senior management so a dose of charm and diplomacy will be help

This role would suit someone who has a strong background in software releases and project management. The company can offer you a very open and friendly environment. They value personalities above awesome technical skills (although both would be nice).
You'll have a good salary package, a comfortable work environment and flexibility when it comes to a work life balance. A good sign is that lots of people want to join this company but I rarely hear of anyone wanting to leave.

If you are interested then go ahead and apply!

Good to know you,
