EHS Specialist

6 months assignment at 100%, extendable (maternity leave)


These are the tasks that await you:


  • Implement the EHSS activities and plans, by giving advice and raise awareness to the managers/supervisors to engage the employees to behave according to EHSS policies and procedures
  • Develop, implement and monitor the EHSS management system and programs
  • Execute a proactive loss prevention program including risk management (identification, assessment, and control), inspections, audits, and emergency planning, by monitoring their implementation, in order to eliminate or reduce health, safety and environmental risks to an acceptable level
  • Develop and implement EHSS training modules, by analyzing the training needs, and maintaining training records of employees, contractors and visitors
  • Provide timely reporting of EHS performance indicators to the management
  • Participate in EHSS projects, by providing clarity on the integration of EHSS requirements and monitoring technical certification
  • Coordinate programs to reduce waste and emissions and conserve energy and natural resources
  • Coordinate the accident investigation, analysis, and reporting and maintain records of all incident/accident information
  • Develop, implement and test emergency prevention and response program
  • Support the EHSS projects on the identification of the needs, weaknesses and/or emerging issues and propose solutions, in order to improve EHSS performance


  • College/University degree in Science/Engineering
  • Major in EHS (Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environment Engineering, Chemical Engineering) subjects is preferred
  • Legal qualification for the job as per local legislative requirements
  • 1-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment with a detailed understanding of legal requirements and applicable standards (e.g. ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 50001, ISO 27001)
  • Experience in chemical management
  • Fluent in English and French; written and spoken
  • Start date: November 1st
