Sr Scientist Statistician

Location: Neuchâtel, Switzerland

Contract: until end of the year possibility of extension

Start Date: asap

We are looking to recruit an innovative Statistician, who is able to apply standard statistical techniques and develop advanced processes for product assessments in the context of product compliance, quality, and performance evaluations, in line with internal and external regulatory requirements.

You are a team player with good communication and presentation skills and you feel comfortable around Senior Management. You pay particular attention to details and you are willing to perceive the global picture.

You will be continuously interacting between internal and/or external partners from development up to commercialisation.

Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with product & process development, engineering, leaf department, manufacturing centre partners, review and consolidate Design of Experiment, as well as providing guidance for product and process investigations related to continuous improvement activities.
  • Provide expert guidance for sampling procedures, specifically in the application of ISO 2859 and 3951 acceptance sampling standards, ISO 8243.
  • Collaborate with Operational QA to ensure definition and maintenance of a relevant and sustainable Process and Product Control Strategy.
  • Support manufacturing centers in setting-up a Continuous Performance Monitoring and Improvement model. Define and implement Leading/Predictive Key-Performance-indicators for manufacturing capability improvement.
  • Provide consultant services to the organization for Analytical Studies, Data & Trend Analysis, Process Validation studies, and Inline/Online equipment qualification.
  • Collaborate with statistician within the organization to ensure harmonization and application of statistically robust methods across functions.
  • Establish ready-for-deployment catalogue for existing statistical and sampling approaches. Identify statistical training needs across PMI, prepare training materials and sharing sessions.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Education: MSc or PhD in Statistics related field.
  • Knowledge and experience designing experimental trials for product and process improvement and conducting statistical analysis (e.g., Design of experiment, power & sample size calculations, hypothesis testing, multivariate analysis, Statistical process control & Process capability, Trend analysis, Acceptance sampling, Specification management)
  • Advanced knowledge of relevant standards (ISO 9001, ISO 2859 and 3951, ASTM, ISO 5725, ISO 8243, ICH)
  • Substantial experience and proven programming skills in SAS, R. Solid analytical skills and advanced knowledge of structured data and database reporting.
  • Ability to work in a regulated environment with scientific interactions and engagement. Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
  • Ability to communicate to non-scientists in a way that is clear and understandable. Fluent in English is a must. Fluent in French is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word for report writing and Excel for datasets management.
