We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Center Technician to join our Technical IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the preparation, staging, setup, startup, and shutdown of various data center components, including racks, hard drives, and switches. This role involves following specific instructions, checklists, guides, standard protocols, and emails to ensure the proper functioning of equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, stage, set up, and perform startups and shutdowns of data center equipment in accordance with specific instructions, checklists, and standard protocols.
  • Conduct post-execution quality checks to verify grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling setups align with safety protocols, deployment standards, and Network Design Tasks (NDTs).
  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting using standard procedures to quickly identify and address issues, including the replacement of faulty components.
  • Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes, such as memory upgrades and OS rebuilds, following established procedures with minimal guidance.
  • Communicate, report, and escalate incidents to Datacenter Technician Leads as per established procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, deployment standards, and planned NDTs.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.
  • 1+ year(s) experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Flexibility to work non-standard business hours, including weekends and/or holidays.
  • Previous data center experience is a plus.

Additional Skills:

  • Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
