LKQ Europe, a subsidiary of LKQ Corporation is the leading distributor of automotive aftermarket parts for cars,commercial vans and industrial vehicles in Europe. We currently employ more than 27,000 colleagues in 21 Europeancountries with a network of over 1,100 branches.

As a Director Technical Competence and Quality, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing a large range of automotive spare and wear parts whilst assuring the quality of LKQ's products are at the highest standards. The role will suit an individual who has extensive product development, quality assurance knowledge within the automotive / aftermarket industry.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Defining the strategic agenda for the product assortment in collaboration with the product management function of LKQ Europe
  • Direction and sign-off of product development standards, technical data standards and product quality standards, best practice and KPIs
  • Constantly ensuring that the development of new products meets the independent aftermarkets needs of a continuously changing market
  • Providing industry leading technical data quality and installation of our products to exceed user expectations
  • Driving quality assurance, quality management (ISO standard) and warranty management
  • Coordination with key stakeholders within the organization (procurement, supplier qualification, supplychain, marketing)
  • Developing a motivated and effective team of professionals
  • Effective leadership across organizational boundaries to ensure optimal business decisions, effective execution and promotion of our people

Qualifikation

  • Business or technical University degree
  • An experienced leader in product development, quality assurance or production in the automotive supplier industry, preferably with focus on the automotive aftermarket
  • Experience in leading multiple teams in several countries and companies within a matrix organization
  • Experience in dealing with producers in Europe and Asia
  • Experience in technical product development and management
  • Experience in quality assurance and management
  • Proven leadership skills in an international environment
  • Hands on mentality and attention to details compared with strong communication skills
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, proactive, willing to take responsibility/accountability
  • Fluent in English, German or any other European language is a plus
