Randstad has over 55 years of experience in the area of HR Management. Under the Randstad Inhouse Services concept, Randstad becomes a full service supplier providing consultancy to international clients. For a long term temporary assignment for our client, the company Philip Morris International, based in Lausanne, we are seeking for an:

IQOS Visual Merchandising and Retailing Manager

Temporary assignment


The VM and Retailing Manager is responsible for communicating and enhancing the IQOS experience at retail level through window dressing, in-store product display, visuals and curation as well as through all the retailing levers (music, scent, packaging and collaterals, team uniforms).

Missions:Responsible for defining and implementing a consistent and enticing brand image at retail level across all formats. By doing so, he/she participates to delivering the IQOS experience whilst triggering footfall, conversion, cross-selling, up-selling and loyalty.

  1. Define and constantly update Visual Merchandising guidelines (to include device and accessory display, visuals, and other experiences, e.g. education, customization):

  • Define, design and implement a creative visual merchandising strategy based on permanent policy and seasonal initiatives.

  • Prepare and release Book of guidelines together with Seasonal campaign books, to be used at store level.

  • Prepare and release Planograms (especially at store opening).

  • Prepare and deliver training sessions for IQOS coaches and/or dedicated VM teams in the markets.

  1. Design and develop Window display together with consistent in-store display initiatives (as per retail calendar):

  • Set-up design and communications themes.

  • Create appealing and eye-catching window displays that lead the customer through the IQOS space, as per international retail calendar in place.

  • Lead curation of Makers' Gallery to sustain IQOS local induction.

  1. Design and develop all retailing supports (as per retail calendar and seasonal design themes, to include music, scent, visuals, team's uniform for example):

  • Design and develop programs in a consistent manner. Prepare and release guidelines in order to secure expected and consistent execution at store level.

  • Brief and coach external designers/visual merchandisers as well as manufacturers and makers for developing/producing Visual merchandising creatives.

  • Collaborate with related departments (Product, Communication, Digital and Planning teams) to prepare the retail calendar, reflect sales trend and product focus in a consistent manner. Partner with events and marketing teams in creative related to in-store execution, spatial planning and brand moves dictated by events / retail calendar.

  • Prepare/release timelines (Gant chart, from design phase to production, and installation).

  • Securely manage budget/investment (design, manufacturing, logistics)


  • 5-7 years of experience in Visual Merchandising

  • Must be creative and demonstrate an instinctive understanding of the luxury / premium retail market (e.g. Louis Vuitton, Apple). Ability to act with a business mindset and to develop strategic processes.

  • Management and leadership skills

  • High level of time management and organization skills. Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and cultures. Ability to delegate appropriately.

  • Strong communication skills. Ability to articulate thoughts and ideas clearly and effectively in both written and spoken English.

  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, or other visual design tools + Powerpoint/Excel/Displayer.
