As Director Technical Competence and Quality at LKQ Europe, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing our large range of automotive spare and wear parts whilst assuring the quality of our products are at the highest standards. The role will suit an individual who has extensive product development, quality assurance knowledge within the automotive /aftermarket industry.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Defining the strategic agenda for the product assortment in collaboration with the product management function of LKQ Europe
  • Direction and sign-off of product development standards, technical data standards and product quality standards, best practices and KPIs
  • Constantly ensuring that the development of new products meets the independent aftermarkets needs of a continuously changing market
  • Providing industry leading technical data quality and installation of our products to exceed user expectations
  • Driving quality assurance, quality management (ISO standard) and warranty management
  • Coordination with key stakeholders within the organization (procurement, supplier qualification, supply chain, marketing)
  • Developing a motivated and effective team of professionals
  • Effective leadership across organizational boundaries to ensure optimal business decisions, effective execution and promotion of our people


  • Technical or business university degree
  • An experienced leader in product development, quality assurance or production in the automotive supplier industry, preferably with focus on the automotive aftermarket
  • Experience in the automotive supplier industry or independent aftermarket
  • Proven experience in leading multiple teams in several countries and companies within a matrix organization / international environment
  • Expertise in dealing with producers in Europe and Asia
  • Know How in technical product development and management
  • Experience in quality assurance and management
  • Hands on mentality and attention to details
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, proactive, willing to take responsibility
  • Fluent in English, German is desirable
