For our client,a growing company in the medical devices field, we are looking for a: 

Scientific and medical office for transfusion medicine

 

Location:Canton of Vaud

Contract: Permanent

The Scientific and Medical Officer for Transfusion Medicine will be responsible for contributing to the successful execution of assigned responsibilities relating to the areas of immunohaematology, blood donor and patient testing. 

You will provide scientific and medical leadership and will be responsible for the generation of evidence of the economic and health benefits of the products and solutions as related to their specific area of expertise. You will be responsible for multiple department internal and external programs and the teams associated with the programs.

 

Your main responsibilities: 

  • Direct the program providing the scientific and medical evidence to support the clinical utility and cost-effectiveness of products or solutions, including the identification of knowledge gaps in the existing literature and develop strategies to fill these gaps. 

  • Serve as an internal expert regarding assigned products or future products by staying current with the current publications and relevant scientific, as assigned communications and providing oral and written summaries to internal stakeholders. 

  • Direct collaborations with Research and Development (R&D) teams throughout the product development process, providing medical input, scientific support, risk analysis. 

  • Direct the development of a publication strategy document with input from key internal stakeholders (i.e., R&D, Marketing). 

  • Manage the evaluation and organization of the scientific literature (publication, abstracts, and posters) related to the  in vitro diagnostic products and keeping related documents up to date.

Your profile:

  • A scientific (MS or PhD) or relevant medical degree (MD, Laboratory Medicine, Pharmacist, Physician Assistant) or professional qualification (Medical Technologist with a certification in transfusion medicine [blood banking]). 

  • Direct experience with laboratory diagnostics, interpretation of immunohematology, blood donor and patient test results in blood banking and patient management or experience in the development of such IVD products 

  • Clinical experience in Laboratory Medicine for blood banking, donor and patient testing. 

  • Must have a proven ability to interpret and write scientific information 

  • Ability to speak multiple languages a plus 

  • Domestic and international travel required.
