               Scientific Communications Analyst

 

Location: Neuchâtel, Switzerland

Contract: 6 - 12 months with possibility of extension

Start Date: asap

The Scientific Communications Analyst will be responsible for multiple analytical tasks as a part of Scientific Publications Team, including conducting research and providing analysis on scientific journals and conferences, managing SharePoint libraries and databases for scientific publications and conferences, and performing editorial reviews on a variety of scientific publications as well as internal and external communications. Our ideal candidate will be a fast learner and a flexible, adaptive, collaborative team player with great interpersonal and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and analyze scientific journals and conferences for impact and relevance to the scientific communications strategy
  • Support editorial review of scientific publications as well as internal and external communications items
  • Research and analyze scientific literature trends and developments in fields including tobacco harm reduction, alternative tobacco products, and other topics relevant to R&D
  • Develop and maintain SharePoint database of scientific publications, including scientific journal articles, abstracts, books, book chapters, and posters presented at scientific conferences, and coordinate information with internal and external communications teams
  • Develop and maintain conference calendar in SharePoint, including abstracts submitted and posters/presentations, and coordinate information with internal and external communications teams
  • Contribute to other team activities and initiatives, as needed

 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Master’s degree (preferable) or Bachelor’s degree in English or Communications
  • Substantial experience in a multinational company in a research and development (R&D) or scientific environment
  • Substantial experience in scientific literature research and analysis, particularly related to scientific journals and conferences
  • Relevant experience reviewing and editing scientific papers, journal articles, abstracts, and news items
  • Significant experience developing and maintaining SharePoint libraries and databases
  • Fluent English (spoken and written): Native speaker preferred
  • Proficiency in the following software:
    • Essential: SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
    • Preferable: EndNote and Tableau
