To join our multinational biotechnology client, we are currently actively looking for a:


Serialization Senior Project Manager

Location: Zug, Switzerland
Contract: 12 - 18 months

Start date: as soon as possible

The individual will be hands-on responsible for project management activities for Serialization in regions including Europe, Middle East and Asia.  Specific areas of focus will include supply chain activities for Contract Manufacturing (CMO) and Distribution which covers a wider range of the technology stack; from line control up to integration with the core EPCIS repository and onward reporting to the European EMVS system or other regional systems as applicable.

This role will be part of a global Serialization Program team consisting of three to four individuals responsible for worldwide implementation of Serialization capability at the company, in a developing PMO environment, where best practices are still in the deployment phase.

The individual will work closely with the Global Serialization Program team to insure strategic solutions are designed and implemented at a local level.  The role is nominally a Senior Project Manager but the nature of the influencing and support needed to be successful will also require solid Program Management skills and experience, specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Responsibilities:

  • Act as serialization champion in the Zug, Switzerland office to the Serialization Program leadership and the Business Owner
  • Own the delivery of all serialization capabilities in the International space (primarily EU), ensuring no risk to International supply chain from Serialization requirements or delivery activities.
  • Align International Serialization deliveries and tactical plans with global Serialization strategy.
  • Driving the solution, conduct regular local project team meetings for task follow-up on IT, business processes, QA , validation and go live deliverables
  • Collaborate with the Serialization Core team, IT and Business teams to ensure Serialization solution meets regulatory timelines and deliverables
  • Coordinate serialization activities with the Commercial project responsible for Affiliate Readiness in all European countries
  • Coordinate with external CMO and Distribution counterparts to plan project schedules,  timelines, budget and deliverables
  • Identify areas to improve Program and Project Management practices, taken ownership of improvement actions.
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure interdependencies and milestones of local project plan are properly integrated into global program plan
  • Develop and maintain delivery plans and feed into Program delivery and resource planning
  • Produce regular status reports and attend regular global team meetings (via conference call and at times, in person)  to represent local project status
  • Deliver projects on time and on budget

 

Requirements:

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills and will be capable of influencing throughout all levels within a multi-location organization.  The ability to think strategically and act tactically is essential in this role.  Attention to detail and a working knowledge of Microsoft Project are required.  The ability to drive the execution of a multi-national program in several locations, keeping within the cost and schedule of the program is a key skill for the candidate.

  • Ability to think broadly and facilitate cross-functional business process design and documentation
  • Ability to delivery without directly line control of internal and external matrixed resources
  • Fluent in MS Office, specifically MS Project.
  • Ability to work and travel within Europe - a minimum of 3 days per week working in the Zug office is required. There may be some ad hoc travel to the US as well.
  • Fluent in best practice Program and Project Management, evidenced by formal qualifications and solid experience of initiating, managing and recovering programs and projects.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience managing complex, integration programs and projects internationally.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing and distribution operations in the Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology industry is required.  
  • PMP or PRINCE2 certification a plus
  • Working knowledge of Serialization is required.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required.
