Utilities Associate Manager 

(permanent position)

Our client, Merck, is looking for their future Utilities Associate Manager to be based in Corsier-sur-Vevey.

Your role:

Within the Engineering & Maintenance department of the Vevey production site, you are in charge of:

  • The management of the operation and maintenance team of the utilities installations (Clean and Black utilities). 

  • You ensure the availability and the smooth running of the installations for the production of our active ingredients with the required level of quality. 

  • Together with your team, you guarantee that the utilities (pharmaceutical water system, HVAC, process gas, steam, sprinkler and heating and cooling systems) are operated and maintained within the given budget and in strict compliance with technical standards, safety rules and cGMP regulations. 

  • You support the timely investigation of all non-conformities and are responsible for the implementation of effective CAPAs. 

  • You are the reference expert for utilities during audits by pharmaceutical authorities. You lead and encourage continuous improvement projects (efficiency, quality, energy savings and reduction of operating costs).

Your profile:

  • Recognized technical diploma in mechanical engineering, electromechanical engineering, chemical engineering (or equivalent)

  • Proven experience in direct management and team development with a minimum of 5 years of experience.

  • Ability to convince and accompany teams towards the same objective

  • Good communication and problem solving skills

  • Expertise in the following areas: Industrial Maintenance, Industrial Process Control, GMP Standards

  • Experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry

  • Comfortable with IT management tools (SAP, Trackwise, MS-Office, etc.)

  • Proactive, driven by the continuous improvement mindset, organized and efficient

  • Fluency in French and English
