CLS Transportation EMEA is part of the Customer & Logistics Services EMEA organization. It is in charge for transportation for the 3 sectors within J&J: Consumer, Pharma and Medical Devices. It manages transportation spend, operations and other related activities and together with its carefully selected suppliers drives innovation and improvement in service and quality whilst delivering on the cost saving targets to achieve strategic goals and enterprise-wide alignment and governance for transportation processes in the EMEA region.

Main Responsibilities:

The Regional Sourcing & SRM Specialist has responsibility for sourcing transportation services and deploying Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) programs in Transportation EMEA with a Subject Matter Expertise in one mode of transport. He or she will support all sectors of J&J (Consumer, Pharma and Medical Devices) and lead an assigned transportation spend area to ensure selection of best in class service providers in terms of cost, service and quality.

He or she supports developing sourcing strategy, multi-year sourcing plan and projects pipeline for Mode of transport within his/her responsibility through benchmarking, market intelligence and increasingly acquired industry and sub-category knowledge. The Strategic Sourcing and SRM specialist is engaged in Supplier relationship management (SRM) in Transportation EMEA as a Subject Matter expert in a specific mode of transport. He or she sourcing activities in the assigned area of transportation spend to ensure selection of best in class service providers in terms of cost, service and quality matching business requirements, driving value across CLS EMEA, operating companies and overall J&J, as well as delivering on the business and savings targets. Main tasks include:

  • Manage supplier relationship for specific transportation mode(s) and related part of transportation spend
  • Deliver productivity as per CLS Transportation targets
  • Support development & deploy sourcing strategy for the assigned area of Transportation spend (mode of transport)
  • Deploy SRM programs, drive supplier-enabled innovation
  • Manage sourcing/quotation, RFx process, participate in Global Sourcing events
  • Collaborate cross-sector & cross-function, act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) of transportation in network redesign, business model change studies and global process improvement projects
  • Support implementation of new solutions and introduction of the new service providers
  • Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and Dashboards
  • Conduct negotiations of contract and service level agreements
  • Maintain knowledge on mode specific industry business intelligence and benchmarking

Qualifikation

  • Educated to degree or BA level in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, Procurement/Strategic Sourcing or demonstrated equivalent experience in one or more of the above mentioned functional areas (3+ years)
  • Procurement, Strategic sourcing and negotiations experience (including contracts)
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication and networking skills. Ability to partner with and influence others without direct authority; build consensus
  • Demonstrating autonomy and showing the ability to prioritize work and meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization and manage complexity and change
  • Customer-, Result- and solution-orientation with proactive attitude
  • Process oriented mindset (process excellence)
  • Strong project management competencies
  • Fluency in English is required
  • Fluency in additional European languages is a plus
  • IT literacy, E2E process orientation
  • Microsoft Office Package
