As an Instrument Integration Engineer, you assume a key role in ensuring the harmonious integration of hardware and software components to guarantee optimal instrument functionality. You accompany the entire life cycle of the instrument—from the concept phase through development and validation to market launch and maintenance. In this position, you contribute significantly to ensuring that all system components work together smoothly, and through your expertise, you ensure that the end product meets the highest quality and performance standards. Your work forms the basis for the successful realization of modern diagnostic and analysis instruments, which are indispensable in a wide variety of applications and industries.

Tasks & Responsibilities:
Ensure seamless cooperation between hardware and software components and promote integration activities across the entire device life cycle
Planning, execution, and documentation of integration activities such as feasibility studies, tests, and troubleshooting
Development and verification of test methods for device testing, maintenance and execution of complex test cases, and ensuring a thorough check of device functionality
Support and execution of troubleshooting and root cause analysis for device issues
Application of statistical methods and data analysis using software tools to evaluate test results, identify trends and correlations, interpret the results, and create reports for decision-making
Technical contact person for internal and external stakeholders. Represent projects in internal meetings and collaborate with R&D teams at Roche to exchange expertise and ensure alignment with project goals
Promote open communication and collaboration, contribute new ideas, foster innovation, and support continuous improvements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a natural science or technical field, particularly in the areas of: Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering
Fundamental understanding of Systems Engineering and its application in instrument development
Initial professional experience in the field of Medical Device Development is an advantage
Initial professional experience in data analysis, evaluation, and the application of statistical methods is an advantage
Affinity for data-driven work
IT/Tool Knowledge: MS Office / Google Workspace
Fluent in English, German is a plus
Tools / IT knowledge is an advantage but not a must: Python, JMP, Azure DevOps, Retina
