About the role:
As a Plastic Design Engineer, you will lead the development of high-precision plastic consumables and mechanical components, taking innovative liquid handling tools from early ideation through to series production.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Design of individual parts and assemblies and their implementation, from conception to production launch
Development of mechanical plastic solutions for our liquid handling products, especially consumables, and their integration into overall systems – with a focus on injection molding.
Planning, design and development of plastic articles from ideation to series production, as well as support for device development in material, plastics, tooling and manufacturing technology issues.
Structure and maintenance of the plastic construction Knowledge and material database
Creating manufacturing documents for drawings, parts lists and assembly instructions.
Purchasing and material procurement for functional models and prototypes
Coordination with internal and external customers, suppliers and service providers
Requirements:
Education: Technical studies (University of Applied Sciences / Fachhochschule) or Certified Technician in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on plastics technology, OR completed vocational training (draftsman/designer/mechanic) with extensive practical experience.
Experience as a development engineer in the field of plastics
Initial experience in the development of injection-molded parts and tool design
Good CAD skills, ideally with SolidWorks
Languages: German (C1) and English (B2–C1) required
Hands-on mentality with enthusiasm for creative solutions and innovative products
