Who conducts the survey and when?
The survey is being conducted by Kantar and Evalueserve. With offices in 90 markets, Kantar (headquartered in Munich) is one of the world's leading companies for independent marketing data and analytics.
Evalueserve is a global market research company with approximately 4,000 employees. The company is headquartered in Switzerland. Its largest office is in India, with additional offices in China, Chile, and Romania. Evalueserve is represented worldwide by client executives.
The survey will run for one month (until January 2026). -
Where is the survey being conducted?
Around 163,000 people worldwide are participating in the independent study, including over 6,000 in Switzerland. A total of 33 countries are participating.
-
How many companies are being analyzed worldwide?
5,944 companies worldwide were included in the independent study. The 150 largest companies in Switzerland (by number of employees) are also being analyzed.
-
Do the people participating in the study work for the companies themselves?
No, the respondents are independent and do not work for the companies being surveyed.
-
Who is paying for the study?
The study is independent and is financed by Randstad.
-
What is the goal of the study?
The study assesses the branding (employer brand) of the largest employers in Switzerland. It also provides valuable insights into employee needs and reflects current labor market demands. These insights will enable employers to respond to trends and market developments and adapt accordingly. Randstad gains valuable insights from the study that can help companies with their recruitment efforts.
Randstad aims to use these insights to best support its talent and clients, thereby helping them achieve sustainable and long-term success in the labor market. -
Are the 150 selected companies contacted by Randstad in advance?
No, the 150 companies in Switzerland are neither contacted nor informed in advance. This is an independent study that examines the impact of companies on a randomized sample of the Swiss population.
-
What criteria are used to select the 150 companies?
Companies are selected based on their size (number of employees in the respective country; for Switzerland, at least 1,500). Companies from the private, public, and healthcare sectors are included. The selection and compilation of the list were carried out by the two market research companies Kantar and Evaluserve (see above) for Randstad.
-
Who decides on the content of the study?
Randstad N.V., based in Diemen, Netherlands, defines the questions and content of the study and commissions it. To ensure relevant comparability of the results, the core questions remain the same each year. In addition, current special topics are analyzed.
-
Why has the list of companies changed in recent years?
The market has changed significantly: from an employer's market to an employee's market. This is felt not only by the private sector but also by the public sector. Employer branding is playing an increasingly important role. For this reason, the criteria were adjusted in 2024, and companies from the public sector and the healthcare industry were also included in the study.
Companies that no longer met the criteria (being one of the 150 largest companies in Switzerland by number of employees) are therefore no longer in the Top 150 ranking, while other companies have been added. -
Are there similar studies to the Randstad Employer Brand Research?
There is no study conducted on this scale. There is another employer brand study, such as the one by “Universum – Most Attractive Europe.” This study is conducted in over 50 countries but has a different target group. Universum focuses on students.
