Laboratory Cleaner

The Research & Development Services team leads the management of R&D laboratories and associated equipment to ensure the safety, compliance and smooth operations of local R&D laboratories.

As a Lab Cleaner you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of our BSL1 and BSL2 laboratories, managing waste collection, and oversee the stocking of common consumables.

Your Profile:

The perfect candidate: has proven experience in a cleaning or laboratory environment, is physically fit, and willing to regularly lift heavy waste bins and work with potentially infectious biological material. They possess B2-level proficiency in both German and English and demonstrate strong skills in MS Excel and the Google Suite.

Tasks & Responsibilities:
 

• Managing, overseeing, and executing the following in the assigned BSL1 & BSL2:

Primary Tasks:

• Regular cleaning of the BSL1 & BSL2 laboratories according to the hygiene plan
• Waste management, including collection and disposal

Secondary Tasks:

• Managing lab coats, including adequate supply, collection, and cleaning
• Operating and monitoring of dishwasher, drying furnace, and autoclaves
• Maintaining a stock of common lab consumables
• Supporting pipettes calibration
• Participating in the on-call services for the CTU excursion
• Cleaning dry ice area

Must Haves:
 

Willingness to work in the following conditions:

• Physical requirements include standing, bending, and lifting heavy waste bins regularly
• Work with potentially infectious biological material
• German – B2 and English B2 Level
• Proficient with MS Excel and Google suite

Nice to Have:

• Hep B vaccination (Can also be provided by the client)
• Relevant experience in a cleaner or laboratory environment

Educational Requirements:

• No university degree (BSc/MSc/PhD) required
