About the job:
Within the framework of the "Synthetic Molecule Clinical and Launch Facility" (SMF) project in Basel—which involves remodeling an existing production building and constructing a new one—a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) (Rockwell PharmaSuite) is to be introduced, among other things. SMF is on a journey from paper-based workflows to fully digital workflows integrated with the SAP system ASPIRE, the local warehouse management system, the existing PLS/DCS system (Siemens PCS7), and other systems.
The project is currently entering the Detailed Design Phase with a planned business go-live in 2030.
We are looking for an experienced individual to act as an MES Deployment Support Specialist to comprehensively support our Site Deployment Lead (SDL) in implementing the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) in our pharmaceutical production facilities. This role is crucial for ensuring seamless coordination, planning, and execution of the MES implementation across multiple teams and stakeholders, ultimately enabling the organization to transition into sustainable operations.
The perfect candidate
Holds an MBA, possesses more than 8 years of experience, and has in-depth knowledge of processes within the pharmaceutical environment. The individual brings proven expertise in guiding an organization toward sustainable operations, as well as comprehensive knowledge in project management. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders are required. Fluency in German and English, as well as knowledge of MES systems and PCS7, complete the profile.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Planning & Coordination
- Supporting the SDL with comprehensive project planning, including schedule development, resource allocation, and capacity management
- Mapping and documenting project dependencies with other concurrent initiatives to avoid conflicts and ensure a smooth workflow
- Coordinating with cross-functional teams to establish realistic milestones and delivery schedules
Change Management & Stakeholder Engagement
- Assisting in the design and execution of the Organizational Change Management (OCM) strategy
- Supporting communication plans and stakeholder engagement activities to ensure organizational readiness
- Helping to identify and mitigate change-related risks
Cross-functional Team Mobilization
- Coordinating with supporting teams (e.g., Material Data Management, Quality Assurance, Operations, IT) to align their contributions with the MES implementation roadmap
- Facilitating planning sessions and workshops to ensure all teams understand dependencies and deliverables
- Acting as a liaison between the SDL and functional teams
Must Haves:
- Completed degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a comparable field
- Min. 8 years of knowledge and experience in the pharmaceutical environment and its processes
- Min. 8 years of knowledge and experience in guiding an organization to sustainable operations
- Min. 8 years of knowledge in project management
- Excellent communication skills; ability to collaborate with technical and business stakeholders
- Fluent German and English skills
Nice to Haves:
- In-depth knowledge of an MES system (PharmaSuite, Werum, or similar)
- PCS7 knowledge
