Are you a skilled mechanical engineer looking to make an impact in the world of high-power technology? We're seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our Product Engineering team in Switzerland, where we develop and produce medium-voltage converter products for a variety of industries, including offshore wind, marine transportation, and large motor drives.
In this role, you will be a key part of our engineering team, reporting to the Engineering Manager. You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our medium-voltage drives product portfolio by acting as a mechanical designer, creating detailed drawings, and developing update kits for our existing products.
General Information:
Start: September or latest beginning of October
Duration: Initial contract of 6 months with the option to extend it
Workplace: Untersiggenthal
Workload: 80–100%
Remote/Home Office: 1–2 times per week (after probational period)
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Mechanical Design: Act as the primary mechanical designer for our medium-voltage drives, ensuring proper designs and updates are implemented
Drawing & Documentation: Create, modify, and maintain mechanical drawings using M-CAD software (Solid Edge / Creo)
Part & Kit Management: Generate complete part lists in SAP, arrange for the creation of update and upgrade kits, and utilize a PLM environment (Windchill) for product lifecycle management
Design Verification: Employ various tools to evaluate and verify your designs, ensuring they meet all technical specifications and standards
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with electrical engineering, release managers, and production lines to ensure seamless integration and timely project completion
Technical Documentation: Create comprehensive technical documentation, including 3D and 2D drawings
Continuous Improvement: Actively collaborate in the continuous improvement of both product design and engineering processes
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Experience: Several years of experience in the design of mechanical constructions
Technical Skills: Proficient in M-CAD software (Solid Edge, Creo) and experienced with SAP. Knowledge of a PLM system like Windchill is a plus.
Personal Attributes: You are a self-driven, highly responsible, and detail-oriented individual with a strong focus on achieving goals and objectives. You are also a recognized team player with excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Software Proficiency: Solid knowledge of Office365
Language Skills: Fluent in English and a basic understanding of German is required
Additional Skills: Knowledge of product portfolios in a similar field would be a significant advantage, and internal training is available
