For one of our clients, a leading pharmaceutical company, we are looking for a Senior Environment, Health and Safety Specialist.

...Main Responsibilities:
1. Development and Implementation of EHS Systems
- Development, implementation, and/or updating of local EHS policies and procedures in accordance with Swiss regulations and the company EHS standards.
- Technical support and coordination in the definition and implementation of on-site EHS systems.
- Conducting GAP analyses to compare the current situation with Swiss regulations and company EHS guidelines and implementing corresponding action plans.
2. Ensuring Compliance and Regulatory Monitoring
- Continuous monitoring and evaluation of regulatory changes in the area of ??environment, health, and safety.
- Development and implementation of strategies to ensure 100% compliance with all current and future safety requirements.
- Maintenance of environmental records, supporting data, and reports for the necessary government, industry, management, and site committees.
- Ensuring that on-site systems are in place to ensure 100% compliance with all safety and environmental regulations and programs.
3. Risk Assessment and Management:
- Conducting workplace risk assessments.
- Assessing risks associated with the use of machinery/equipment and processes (Process Hazard Analysis).
- Participating in the investigation of accidents, near misses, and incidents.
- Maintaining and updating emergency plans and procedures.
4. Training and Awareness Raising
- Establishing and organizing third-party safety and environmental training, web-based materials, and/or self-development and implementation for all relevant stakeholders.
- Organizing and participating in safety and environmental promotion and awareness campaigns.
- Training employees on general and/or specific safety, environmental, and health protection rules according to the company training program.
5. Audits, Inspections, and Continuous Improvement
- Supporting monthly internal safety inspections/safety walkthroughs.
- Managing and tracking CAPAs (Corrective and Preventive Actions) and implementing safety measures.
- Ensure that self-assessments, safety reviews, and safety inspections are conducted thoroughly and that corrective/preventive actions are taken to minimize long-term risks.
6. Project Support
- Technical advice on the planning and implementation of new projects to ensure EHS compliance (e.g., design reviews).
- Supervision and coordination of external contractors during construction work.
Your profile:
- Recognized degree in an environmental or safety-related technical field.
- Swiss Occupational Safety & Health (AS&GS) certification or equivalent.
- Fluent in German with good communication skills in English.
- At least 5-8 years of experience in a similar role.
- Documented knowledge of Swiss and EU EHS regulations and the regulatory framework.
- Proven ability to develop sustainable, collaborative professional relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize, focus, and achieve business results.
- Proven analytical and logical problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously to efficiently support the business.
- Experience in a chemical/pharmaceutical company is a plus.
- Vision and sound judgment; ability to develop strategies and implement them tactically.
- Skills in applying regulatory frameworks such as EKAS, OSHA, ISO, and GMP.
