You will join a small team engineering and supporting Cloud Engineering solutions in Microsoft Azure for the finance
data & analytics area of an international financial services firm.
One day you might be creating and testing terraform; another managing our Kubernetes cluster; while the next
increasing the observability of one of our products; on yet another day you might be pulled into a complex problem and
need to investigate a performance issue in Databricks.
Specific job responsibilities include:
- enabling our staging environment for comprehensive business testing
- managing our own SaaS third-party Tagetik application (upgrades, monitoring, etc.)
- management of our Kubernetes cluster
- managing our Azure subscription (e.g. increasing security, managing alerts)
- Collaborate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment, security and high availability in the Cloud
- working closely with our development teams to understand their needs and code infrastructure deployments in terraform
- keeping documentation concise, accurate and up-to-date
- Research new technologies and prototype new ideas
- contributing to a continual improvement in everything we do e.g. increasing automation, better observability, removal of technical debt

...skills:
- a degree in applied science, engineering or computer science (or equivalent applied professional experience)
- excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- a curious mindset and the ability to break complex problems into steppingstones
- a good general understanding of networking, compute and security concepts relevant to the public cloud
- experience engineering solutions with Microsoft Azure
- experience with at least one RDBMS
- experience writing terraform (preferable a Terraform Associate)
- good skills with a shell/scripting language e.g. PowerShell or Bash
- good working knowledge of git
- being fluent in Python is a plus
- Strong interest in/motivation to learn about insurance/reinsurance
- Resident in Switzerland or willing to relocate
