About the job:
The “Microbiology Kaiseraugst” group is part of the Microbiology section within the “Quality Control for Commercial Drug Products” department in Kaiseraugst. The group consists of three teams. This includes the sterile testing laboratory, the endotoxin laboratory, and microbial identification. As a Laboratory Technician in the Microbial Identification team in pharmaceutical quality control, you will ensure reliable and efficient microbiological analysis for our manufacturing customers at the Basel and Kaiseraugst sites, thus ensuring the safety of products and thus the well-being of patients. You will be responsible for conducting and evaluating microbial identification using various methods such as microscopy or MALDI-TOF. Further areas of expertise may follow, depending on qualifications.
Your Profile:
- Completed training in biology, microbiology, or a comparable field and
- 1-3 years of practical experience in a microbiological and GMP-regulated environment
- Work precisely, independently, and responsibly, bring team spirit and flexibility
- Communicate fluently in German.
- Possess solid computer skills and impress with a structured, meticulous approach to their work.
Tasks & responsibilities:
- Analytical and preparatory cross-group activities in the three laboratories
- Germ identification, sterility and endotoxin
- Carrying out MALDI-TOF analysis, subculturing of germs, sample receipt and recording of results in the LIMS system and paper documentation
- Carrying out environmental monitoring in the laboratory zone
- GMP-compliant logging of work and results
Must-Haves:
- Completed training in biology, microbiology or similar
- 1-3 years of practical work experience in a microbiological environment
- Work experience in a GMP environment
- Fluent written and spoken German
- Clean, precise and independent way of working
- Responsible, team-oriented and flexible
- Good PC skills
