The Medium Voltage (MV) Drives R&D team is responsible for the design and development of Medium Voltage Power Electronics Frequency Converters. These drives are critical for various applications and industries, including marine, wind, water, oil and gas, food industry, metals, and mining, each with unique operational conditions and constraints.
As part of the Power Electronics and Components R&D team, you will contribute significantly to product development projects by identifying and implementing innovative and robust solutions for our next-generation MV Drives Frequency Converters.
The Role:
We are seeking a Senior R&D Power Electronics Engineer with a special focus on MV Drives system design, specification, testing, and qualification of the main components. As a Senior Engineer, you will take a leading role in the technical realization of new product families.

Duration: Initial contract of 1 year with the option to extend it
Workplace: Untersiggenthal
Workload: 100%
Remote/Home Office: This role offers flexibility with a standard reference of up to 40% home office. However, the nature of R&D work, especially lab testing and validation, will require necessary presence in the office/lab environment, which may occasionally require 100% on-site work.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Lead the system design, specification, testing, and qualification of the main components and sub-systems for a new family of MV frequency converters.
Manage the product development lifecycle from conceptual design using simulation tools to final validation in R&D labs.
Focus heavily on the qualification of MV components and sub-systems, including interaction and collaboration with key internal and external suppliers.
Maintain and further develop the key Power Electronics Technologies Expertise and Know-How within the MV Drives Power Electronics and Components R&D team.
Actively contribute to applied research and development initiatives, bringing innovative solutions to the product roadmap.
Qualifications:
Education: University Master's degree or a PhD in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Electronics, particularly High Power and Medium Voltage applications
Experience: Solid background experience in Power Electronics System Design and Development or equivalent, serving as a Power Electronics expert. Senior profiles are highly welcome
Technical Skills: Sound knowledge in modelling, simulation, and system design analysis using state-of-the-art engineering design tools
Practical Skills: High interest and focus on practical experimentation, testing, and validation in an MV lab environment, including the introduction of new products and functionalities to the market
Soft Skills: A solution-focused approach, self-organized and motivated, with strong written and spoken communication skills
Desired / Advantageous (not mandatory):
Expertise and practical experience on High Power and Medium Voltage converters.
Proven expertise in solutions and component qualification in an MV environment.
Proficiency in German language.
